He was a native of Scotland, born in the village of his youth have been gleaned. Balermic near the city of Dundee in the year 1726. The parents were sufficiently prosperous to educate their children, but nothing more is known about them. For reasons never stated, Henry Pattillo left Scotland in the company of his brother, George, and came to Virginia Colonies  in 1740.

Henry raised his family and had a small plantation on 300 acres up by Stovall at the top of the map. That is where you find Highway Marker for Henry Pattillo’s home and school.

Dinwiddie, Virginia- Henry Pattillo Died in 1801

At the age of 74, Rev. Henry Pattillo left his home in North Carolina to serve and preach to the people in Dinwiddie, Virginia. He became very ill and passed away while there in 1801.
