Mathilda Maria Johnson
Mathilda (Hilda) grew up in Sweden. She worked hard as a young girl to help her parents run the farm. Hilda joined the church as a young adult with her Uncle Eric Gillen who was a couple years older. Hilda immigrated to the United States and two months later married Andrew Peterson. They raised seven children. Her biography is inspirational to all of us.
Anders Gron Jansson and Anna Maria Ersdotter
Anders Gron Jansson enlisted as a soldier in the Swedish Army. He met and married Anna Maria Ersdotter. The town took care of them while he was enlisted. Anna’s mother, Anna Greta, became very ill and needed Anders and Anna Maria to come care for her and the family. They joined the LDS Church and immigrated to the United States.
