Sophia lived in Colonial Savannah, Georgia. She married Gideon Patterson in 1784. They owned 200 acres in the Savannah, Georgia region. Her husband, Gideon was a Private in the Revolutionary War.
John Phillips was elected trustee to the Georgia Colony in 1742. And in 1743 he left for England to propose two acts to establish tenure of lands in Georgia and reducing Quit Rents. (A tax imposed by the Crown on land)
