Last Will and Testament of Aaron Steele Deceased
In the name of God Amen I Aaron Steel of Abbeville County state of South Carolina being sick and in a low condition but in perfect mind and memory thanks be given to God, calling to mind the mortallity of my body and know that it is appointed for all men once to die do make and ordain this my last will and testament that is to say principally and first of all I give and commend my soul into the hands of Almighty God that gave it, and my body I recommend to the earth to be buried in a decent Christian burial at the discration of my executors nothing doubting but at the jeneral resurrection I shall receive the same again by the mighty power of God and as tuching such worldly estate wherewith it has pleased God to bless me in this life I give divide and dispose of the same in the following manner and form I give and bequeath to Elizabeth my deerly beloved wife the hundred and fifty acres of land I now ….. with the third of my moovable property the rifle gun excepted and the youn hors coult from the ……. ……… escepted also – S… I leave to my son William five shillings and to his son Aaron I leave ten pounds. Next I leave to my sons james and Abner and Aaron the too lower plantations to be equally divided among them and an equal share of all my other property except gun above mentioned to my son James and to my daughter Jean I leave twenty pounds in monie with her bed and furniture and the young hors coult above mentioned- and I also order all my lawful debts and funeral charges to be paid out of my estate- and I also order the plantation I now live upon at my wifs deceas to be equally divided among all my children and I do hereby revoke and dis….. all other wills and testaments by me in any ways named and do ratify and confirm this and no other to be my last will and testament. I also do constitute and appoint Robert Harris and John Caldwell and my wife Elizabeth to be hole and sole executors and execute of this my last will and treatment. In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this fift day of August in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and ninety fore.

Came James Cozby one of the witnesses to the above will and made oath that he saw Aaron Steele deceased sign seal publish pronounce and declare the same to be his last will and testament and that he was then of sound and perfect mind, memory and understanding to the best of the … knowledge and belief and that John Caldwell and Robert Harris together with this person did subscribe their names thereto as witnesses in the presence of the teatator and at his request and in the presence of each other certified by order of court the day and date above written
Elisabeth Steele the Executrix and John Caldwell one of the Executors named in the foregoing will took the oath of executors thereof in open court of Abbeville County the ninth day of November Anno Domini 1795
