In November 1904 Neils went and filed for a divorce from Delia seeking abandnment and mental cruelty for leaving him and abandoning the two children that they had, Carl and Marion.

Delia left and went to her mother’s house leaving Nels Rasmussen with their two children. According to Newspaper she doesn’t love him anymore. 

Neils Rasmussen met Emma Roth in Divorce Court. Emma's 14 year old sister ran away with her husband back in June. During the month of November they are both filing for a divorce at the same time. Emma has one son with Arthur Milliken but is pregnant with a second.

June 16, 1904- Arthur took Mrs. Milliken’s sister Mary Rauth(Roth). Mr. Milliken took Mary for a drive and didn’t come back.

The Divorce's are Granted and the Neils and Emma get married

January 25, 1905 Neils Rasmussen’s Divorce is granted and custody of two children 5 years old and 6 years old given to Neils Rasmussen.

Neils is seen in 1910 just five years after the divorce with Marion (12) and Carl (10)  Albert Milliken (but he must have taken his stepfather’s last name) and Leona & Johnie. Neils is a Bartender and he own’s his Saloon.  

In the 1920 Census Neils and Emma move to Butte Co. California and he works as a farmer until he dies in 1924. He died January 4, 1924 and is buried at the Masonic Lawn in Sacramento California. Emma must have forgiven her sister and her ex-husband because she moved out to Sacramento where Mary and Arthur Milliken were living.

Obituaries for Arthur Milliken and Emma (Roth-Rasmussen) Casey

Arthur Milliken’s obituary December 12, 1959. He married Mary Roth (Emma’s sister) and here is Emma’s obituary dated April 17, 1976. Neils Rasmussen died in 1924 and Emma remarried Jesse Casey. Here in her obituary you can see her first son Albert Milliken and Neils’s children as well.
