Our great -uncle John Jackson pictured above with Mary Louisa Carter, Momo’s eighty five year old son who was born and raised on the plantation with his father Albert Emmett Jackson and had never married, continued to live with us. He was a kind man who would intrigue us for hours with his first hand storied of life there during the slavery years and his stories of the cruel and destructive acts of the Union soldiers on the plantation in the era during the Civil War
